Group Runs

NERC GROUP RUNS ARE BACK!

Beginning May 1st, NERC Group Runs are open again. These groups are a great way to get to know new runners, learn from each other, and stay motivated to get your run in every week. 

Group runs take place year-round. Some runners may start earlier for more miles and circle back to the meeting location for the regular start time. Visit the NERC Facebook page to make early start plans. Make sure you dress visibly when runs take place on the roads or in the dark!

Saturday Long Runs

  • 7:30 AM in the winter (Labor Day to Memorial Day),  7:00 AM in the summer
  • Meet at Starbucks, 7639 Crile Road, Concord Township, Ohio
  • The ten-mile route is primarily on an asphalt bike path with shorter or longer options. The regular route includes the paved Greenway Corridor Trail in Concord. Additional routes go through Painesville and Chardon (Maple Highlands Trail).

Monday Night Group Run

  • 5:30 PM sharp in the winter (when the clock falls back til it springs forward) and 6:00 PM in the summer
  • Meet at Lake Metroparks Chagrin River Park, Reeves Road entrance, 3100 Reeves Road, Willoughby, Ohio
  • Paved and crushed limestone paths with simple loops making it easy to do increments of 1, 3, and 5 miles. Most runners complete 3-5 miles, but you can do any distance you like! There will always be a 10-12 min/mile pacer present and walkers are welcome. Bring a flashlight or headlamp in the winter.

Wednesday Night Track

  • Summer track workouts April through September
  • 6:30 PM at Kirtland High School Track, 9150 Chillicothe Road, Kirtland, Ohio
  • Free, but valuable workouts led by Coach Rick Webb to help achieve your goals in a safe and injury free manner.
  • Please note that registered members attending group runs and events are covered through RRCA insurance.
