In December, 2005, a man met a fifteen-year-old girl battling cancer. They became close friends. One day, the little girl mentioned to the man that there were walks and runs to benefit all kinds of cancers, but none for children’s cancer. The man decided to change that.

So, in honor of that brave little girl, Chelsey Campbell, the man created Snowdrop Foundation, a non-profit organization benefiting Children’s Cancer Research to fulfill the little girl’s dream.

And so, starting on December 30, the 4^th annual Snowdrop Foundation Ultra race will once again take on the elements to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research and scholarships.  For 55 continuous hours, hundreds of runners will walk or run in support of this great cause.

As the runners make their laps around Meadow Loop, they’ll see the many faces of cancer.  Photographs of pediatric cancer patients will line their way – each one serving to remind the runners and public that the battle goes on; that cancer respects no age limits.  Each one speaking out, as if to say: “I’m why you’re doing this.  I’m what this is about.”

I am honored to participate in this event for the 4^th year in a row.  I’m especially honored to serve as team captain for Team Gabi.  Team Gabi was formed last year when my neighbor, 13 year -old Gabi Gray, was diagnosed with cancer.  One year later I am delighted to say that Gabi’s is a story of success.  After many chemo and radiation treatments she is free of cancer. 

But the battle goes on for so many others, so Team Gabi will run again – to raise awareness and funds for research and scholarships.

And for this, I’m asking for your help. I’m asking you to take just a few minutes, go on line and contribute on behalf of Team Gabi.  And if your company has a matching funds program, ask that they match your donation.

Team Gabi raised more than $11,000.00 last year.  This year we’ve set our goal at $15,000.  I hope you’ll help us blow through this goal.  To do your part follow these five easy steps.
