Cancer is the one word anyone dreads when it comes up in any conversation. However, it takes a whole new meaning when it is used to describe why a child is sick. It's hard to understand why our own cells go rouge and do not follow proper cell cycle rules. This is where scientists and physicians must continue to work hand in hand to find new ways of treating, correcting and irradicating cancer cells using less toxic means.
I am very blessed to be a part of Snowdrop 55 and excited to take part in fundraising for the Texas Children's Cancer Center to bring comfort and relief for children with cancer. December 30-January 1, 2018, I will be gleefully running 100 miles in 55 hrs. So what if there are blisters and chafing in odd areas and yes it might be crazy but for those little ones in the hospital bed not able to be outside because they are undergoing chemotherapy, I do this for them. I've been asked isn't there a less crazy way to do this. Honestly, what better way to bring awareness and togetherness than a 55 hr run, camping in tents around the course and just remembering those battling an illness that we are blessed to not have to deal with. So I ask you for your support of this foundation that seeks to help those in need. Many kind regards and thank you for taking the time to read this! 💗
