Patrick Riordan - CEO and Member of the Board of Directors
Patrick Riordan is responsible for the day-to-day operations of The Driven. He comes to The Driven with more than eight years of event registration and management experience as an owner/founder of Athlete in You, LLC., and uses that experience to help to manage our team, provide business structure, and bring greater awareness to our amazing event registration software. He has worked with Event/Race Directors of all types including endurance racing, Alpine and Nordic ski races, biathlons, team sports, and youth sports leagues.
Patrick has spent most of his life in Reno, NV. He has always had a passion for athletics and was a three-sport letterman in high school in football, baseball, and Alpine ski racing. Patrick was one of a handful of 18-year-old athletes in the country nominated to try out for the 1988 Olympic Baseball team, leading him to attend the University of Nevada-Reno, briefly playing baseball and keeping up with his passion for participating in competitive sports.
After graduating from college, Patrick began a successful career in Pharmaceutical Sales. Continuing his pursuit of sport, he gained an interest in bike racing and ultimately triathlon. To date, he has competed in more than 75 multi-sport events racing all distances, including Ironman.
Today, when Patrick is not working or training for his next competition, he is supporting his son's athletic pursuits as an Alpine ski racer and baseball player.
Lance Maiss - General Counsel and Member of the Board of Directors
Lance serves as the General Counsel for the Company, providing guidance with day-to-day business concerns and strategic advice in pursuing the long-term goals of the Company.
Prior to joining The Driven, Lance was a part owner of Athlete In You, LLC (since merged with The Driven), where he also served as General Counsel, in addition to practicing law at Maiss Law Group Ltd.
Lance’s career in law spans over 20 years, primarily advising business owners and companies regarding entity structure, expansion, restructuring, succession planning, and governance to help increase value, solve problems, and alleviate risk. Prior to starting his own firm, Lance served as Of Counsel with the national law firm, Armstrong Teasdale, LLP. Lance is also a court-appointed arbitrator, past mediator, and serves on the Nevada State Bar’s Disciplinary Board.
After graduating from UCLA with a B.A. in Political Science, Lance obtained his J.D. from McGeorgeSchool of Law/UOP.
Outside of business, Lance’s passion over the last 15 years has been endurance sports. A 15-time Ironman, Lance has participated in over 100 endurance events, including 75 triathlons around the world.
