The second race of The Colleyville 5k Championship Series is the long standing, Run for Rescue 5k. It’s scheduled for Saturday April 8, 2017. This 5k track is a one-loop path that begins on the campus of the 1st United Methodist Church of Colleyville. You will be running through the beautiful neighborhoods of nearby Colleyville where you will encounter low grade uphill climbs before heading back to the church. Run for Rescue 5k is a great race for all levels of runners and walkers. Also you’re welcome to bring the Dog (leash required!) and runners with strollers are welcome too – by the way, a runner with a stroller, watch out, they may beat you as they can be very fast. You know, if competition is not your thing, “No Worries Be Happy”, just come on out and enjoy a good walk. Like all 5k events, there is the very popular 1 mile fun run, Nice!!!
BY THE WAY, A new course record was set in 2016. James Jackson amazingly cut off 2 minutes of the Men’s fastest time and recording a chip time of 16:11. For the Ladies, the course record remains in possesstion of Jessica Smith with a chip time of 19:26. That record was set in 2014.
