We are so excited to participate in our 3rd team charity run to raise awareness and funds for blood cancers! Lace Up for Life (formally Be The Match Walk + Run) is on Saturday September 10, 2016 in Sugarland, Texas and is sponsored by the Gulf Coast Marrow Donor Program working in partnership with Be The Match to help fundraise, educate and add donors to the registry and also to support the donor during the donation process.
Our team is named #ManOfSteel in memory of Rakesh "Rocky" Patel, our very own superhero (4/29/91-12/8/14.) Rakesh fought a 3 year battle with leukemia and has let his lime green light shine on every life he has touched. From his dedication to family to his passion for dance to his humble character, he has inspired us to be better and to do better. We hope in this small way, we are honoring his memory and carrying on his legacy. Please consider registering for the national bone marrow registry, donating to our run, or joining our team! Every 3 minutes, someone in the US is diagnosed with a blood cancer. We hope to raise awareness, raise funds, to honor those who have fought so bravely, and to support those who are still fighting.
