Hope - Courage - Love
The Snowdrop 55HR is held each December at Buffalo Run Park in Missouri City, TX on a .7 mile loop. Each runner has 55 hours to complete as many laps as possible within the time limit and attracts many runners from across the country.
My goals for the race are to finish with at least 150 miles completed and to finish in the top 10. To date the farthest I’ve gone is 100 miles in 29 hours. I’ve been wanting to do this race for several years and finally have the chance.
One aspect of the Snowdrop Foundation is to provide scholarships for college bound, pediatric cancer patients and childhood cancer survivors. Another is to provide support to children, teens, and their families who are going through treatment.
My childhood friend, Travis, and a good friend in high school, Crystal, were taken by cancer and not a day goes by where I don’t think fondly of them. I will be running this race for them and for my friend, Lily, who is beginning her first year in kindergarten and is a cancer survivor. I will be running with her heart of love drawing she gave me and will do so proudly.
