Thank you for considering volunteering a bit of your time/energy to make the Zambia Orphan Run Fundraiser a huge success! The goal of this event is to raise $110,000 to build a house in Zambia, Africa for 12 orphan children my wife and I were lucky enough to meet two summers ago, currently living in the slums of inner city Lusaka. By God's grace and with a lot of help, we have already raised $77,000 and are hopeful this event finalizes our 14 month fundraising journey. There are various volunteer positions we need help with, the most important of which is helping us spread the word to potential runners, walkers or sponsors. Other positions include helping with registration, parking, distributing water, biking in front of the first place runner, taking pictures and helping us clean up.

helping us get the word out as aggressively as possible in the Houston area. This is actually the most important volunteer position for us, given that my wife and I live in Dallas and our contacts in Houston are limited. Folks can register at "www.zambiaorphanrun.com". Water Tables
setting up water tables, pouring water into water cups and distributing these cups to participants when they are running/walking by. This is a two mile loop course so ideally, we could have two volunteers on one end of the pond (at the first mile marker) and then one additional volunteer passing out water at the finish line.

Photographer
trying to take pictures of every single runner as they pass through the finish line. My wife and I will post all these pictures to our website for participants to scroll through and look at later. Might also be good to take a few pictures of everyone at the starting line and potentially some shots of folks receiving their medals/awards after the race finishes.

take off runners chips, as soon as they cross the finish line. Thank them for participating and give them high fives. Encourage runners once they finish their first loop around the lake and start their second (and final) loop.
