Registration

The Zambia Orphan Run is a 4 mile run/walk on Saturday, November 14th, 2015, at Harris County Deputy Darren Goforth Park (formerly Horsepen Creek Park). The event is being held to raise money to build a home in Zambia, Africa, for orphan children in extreme poverty. 100% of the proceeds from this event benefit Family Legacy Missions International, a 501(c)(3) organization that exists to connect American families with the orphaned and vulnerable children of Zambia to proclaim the gospel, transform lives, and rescue orphans. In July 2014, we (Andrew and Graceann DeVlieger), traveled to Lusaka, Zambia, with Family Legacy and were forever changed by the kids we met there. We are now raising $110,000 to build a home for 12 orphan girls in Zambia which we will be naming "Marie's House", in honor of Graceann's late grandma.  The children that move into this home will come from the most severe backgrounds of poverty, abuse, and neglect. Some are HIV positive, while others come from child-headed households. All are in need of healing, comfort, and a fresh-start.  We would be thrilled if you could join us November 14th, for a fun 4 mile run/walk, but more importantly to help give the gift of hope and a home to orphan children who so desperately need it.  We are also excited to announce that the first $5,000 raised from this event will be matched by a private donor.  

Entry Fees:

• $25 per registrant through November 7th
• $30 per registrant November 8th through race day
• *You can register on race day for $30

Packet pickup will be on race day (Nov. 14th) only between 7:30am and 8:50am near the starting line.

Awards:
Prizes will be awarded to the top overall male and female finisher in each group. Additionally prizes will be given to the top three finishers in each age group.
Age groups (there will be both male and female age groups)

• 19 and under
• 20-29
• 30-39
• 40-49
• 50-59
• 60 and over

This event will also feature a 50-50 raffle, free food, and we will be selling many great gift cards to local restaurants, stores, etc. for 80% of their face value. 

T-shirts will be guaranteed to all participants who pre-register by Nov. 7th, 2015. We will do our best to have t-shirts for all participants, but cannot guarantee them to participants who sign up after Nov. 7th.
