2020 USA FIT Houston Spring Training Programs starts February 8th, 2020
Orientation will be at Fleet feet on Woodway Drive on February 6th at 6.30 pm.

USA FIT Houston Spring training programs are the perfect way to start the new year off by getting in shape or by maintaining your fitness level after completing your goal races!

The spring training program offers the following groups:

Walking/Running 5K/10K: This group is for the experienced walker or runner who wishes to keep the endurance level achieved as a result of the fall or winter training programs. Based on the ability of some of the participants, some light running may also be incorporated into the schedule.

5K/10K Program (Stay Fit): This is the perfect program for those runners who are able to walk/jog or run 3 miles or who have just completed a marathon or half marathon.  This program consists of hill and/or speed training.  The goal of this training is to help the participant become a more efficient and better runner.  Official meeting times will be Tuesday evenings at 6:30 pm and Saturday mornings at 7:00 am.  Based on participation, a Tuesday morning meeting may become available.

Half Marathon: This program will keep the momentum going for the experienced half-marathoner. If you wish to participate in a spring Half-Marathon then this training is for you.  Prerequisites for half-marathon program is that the participant should have completed at least one half-marathon.  Official meeting times will be Tuesday evenings at 6:30 pm and Saturday mornings will vary depending on the scheduled distance.

NEW THIS SPRING - POWER WALKING TRAINING 

Power Walker and Racewalkers are a relatively new segment of USA FIT Houston. We focus on gaining speed while keeping one foot on the ground at all times. All paces are welcomewith the goal of improving each participant's 5k pace by 5% - 10% over the course of the Spring.  Drills and techniques will be practiced at a track. Good racewalking form will be optional, but encouraged, especially for folks looking to achieve a sub-12 min/mile pace.  We will help you push your personal boundaries and achieve your performance and speed goals in an encouraging, safe environment.

Power Walkers receive all the same benefits as runners. All athletes meet on Saturday, and progress through an increasingly rigorous schedule each week until the season’s ending taper. Everyone receives the same excellent ability-based coaching, weekly educational seminars, mid-week support, and more.  

Information on target 5K/10K races and Half Marathons will follow shortly.

Take advantage of early program discounts by registering for the spring/fall programs (February 2020 – November 2020) or the annual programs (February 2020 - January 2021.

REFER A FRIEND:

If you are a returning member and refer one or more NEW MEMBERS who have never trained with Houston Fit, you will receive a $10 discount on your membership fee.  Tell your friends and family to put in your name when they answer the question on the registration form, "If you were referred by a returning Houston Fit member, please give us that member's name."  At the close of registration, if your name is listed, your discount will be refunded.
