ME STRONG is a rapidly growing 501 (c) (3) charitable organization. It was built on the foundation of uniting community members in supporting Central Floridians battling cancer through an annual event which encourages living a healthy lifestyle.

The highly anticipated ME STRONG 5k takes place annually in Historic Downtown DeLand; voted as the home of, “America’s Favorite Mainstreet”. The inaugural event took place in January of 2012 in honor of Linda Ryan who was then battling cancer. The event was an overwhelming success and has grown to be Volusia County’s largest 5k with nearly 3,000 participants. The efforts of the five women who founded the charity and it’s 5k have not gone unnoticed as the highly spirited ME STRONG 5k has been recognized by Florida Running and Triathlon Magazine as one of the state’s top ten 5k races.

Through volunteer efforts the charitable organization ME STRONG has donated nearly a half million dollars offering financial assistance to Central Floridians with a cancer diagnosis and to support and an annual research grant in search of a cure. Whether it’s assistance with medical or household bills, our grant recipients have expressed their deepest gratitude toward the kindness and gratitude of complete strangers.
