The Hidden Gem Half Marathon

On September 12, 2020, thousands will line the historic streets of the Village of Flossmoor to participate in or witness The Hidden Gem Half – Flossmoor’s second annual half marathon as it winds through our historic neighborhoods. It will culminate in a grand celebration as we kick off Flossmoor Fest 2020. This event will showcase our community and introduce a new generation of prospective “Flossmoor residents and ambassadors” to all our wonderful Village has to offer. 

The race route – officially certified, sanctioned and publicized by the Chicago Runner’s Association (CARA) – will give race participants an op-close view of all that makes Flossmoor special.  Race participants will run past our schools.  They will witness the beauty of our historic churches and places of worship.  They will run next to our parks and golf courses, taking in the myriad outdoor experiences Flossmoor has to offer.  They will be exposed to beautiful homes in our historic neighborhoods, experience our vintage downtown, and – most importantly – get a first-hand view of the tremendous sense of pride we have in our community, with the kickoff of Flossmoor Fest 2020 immediately following the race.

With the tremendous support we have received from our local leaders and municipalities including the Village of Flossmoor, the Flossmoor Police Department, School Districts 161 and 233, Infant Jesus of Prague Church and School and the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District, we are excited to return this highly successful event to Flossmoor.  

From a financial perspective, our objective is simply to “break even,” but the entire Flossmoor community all profits from the exposure the race brings to our little hidden gem of a town.  To that end, we hope you will consider supporting this event as a sponsor.
