Do you love dogs and other pets? Do you care about native issues? YES?! Please consider walking forALASKA RURAL VETERINARY OUTREACH, INC. (http://www.akrvo.org), or donating to our mission. Can you imagine having dogs or other pets in your family without any veterinary care available to keep them healthy and happy? Unfortunately, that is the sad reality in many remote Alaskan communities. Even though most households have dogs, most are never seen by a vet. For pet owners, flying dogs to hub cities is logistically challenging and financially impossible. As a result, Rabies and Parvo are a real threat to pets and humans. Un-spayed female dogs have unwanted pregnancies year after year; it is impossible to find homes for so many puppies and many get destroyed without having humane euthanasia methods available.
Upon request from a remote community, ARVO organizes a volunteer medical team to fly to that village. We set up a mobile clinic in a public building such as a Community Center and provide much-needed low-cost veterinary care.
Flying in Alaska is expensive; medical drugs and equipment are expensive as well. We need financial support in order to conduct 6-8 clinics in 2015 and we have a long waiting list of communities who need veterinary care.
Please support our mission to help pets in rural Alaska! In the name of our four-legged friends - THANK YOU!
