Thank you for volunteering! As an all-volunteer organization, we cannot make this race a success without you. We have opportunities for everyone in the club to help out, whether you are running or not. We would love to invite you and your family out for a fun morning at Norbuck Park.

 

The theme of this year's relay is "Back to School." We encourage you to get in the spirit of the event and dress up, as many of our runners will be doing.

Friday Night Load-In and Baton Labeling
We need strong people to transport race equipment and merchandise from the clubhouse to the truck and load it all in nice and snug and crafty volunteers to label the relay batons. We all meet at the clubhouse at 6pm, ready to go!

The southernmost entrance to Norbuck Park will be closed to cars. This volunteer position will help direct vehicles to the appropriate parking entrance and answer questions.

Pre-Race Set-Up At The Start Line
We need all hands on deck to make sure the following tasks are done before the party gets started: - Water coolers must be filled and Gatorade mixed up at Winfrey first thing in the morning - Set up tents at the start line - Set up sound equipment - Set up the arch - Set up a table with water coolers for the finish line

Relay batons are organized by team name. This position will help our runners find their batons and bibs.

Registration Facilitator
Your role will be to facilitate the race registration process. Set out all the forms and direct runners to the forms and recommend the correct form be filled out. You will also assist matching up single runners with a team to run with and/or teams that need a single runner.

We need a group of cheerleaders to cheer on the runners and point them in the right direction. And since cheerleaders need pom poms, we will bring those along, too!

Retail skills abound, although our great merchandise sells itself! This group will help set up the merchandise table and sell DRC merchandise.

Kids Race
This is one of the more fun positions to help with. Seeing the littlest members of the club run with smiles on their face is even more exciting than being able to put "finishers medals" on each of them after the race.

Post-Race Clean Up at Norbuck
What goes up must always come down. These positions break down tables and chairs and pulls down banners, picks up trash, returning Norbuck back to it`s original state. Essentially, it all has to be taken out of the house, loaded onto the U-Haul and put back into the clubhouse.

What goes up must always come down. These positions break down the finish line and loads it all back up into the U-Haul and put back into the clubhouse. We have a great assembly line that makes it fun and fast!
