We are seeking your support as a sponsor of the race(s). We are hoping to raise $75,000 from our friends and sponsors who are interested in supporting events that encourages community involvement, promote health awareness, nutrition, and gun violence prevention.
Donations collected will be applied towards three (3) Chicago Park District Level 4 Athletic Event Permits ($22,665) and other race expenses including, but not limited to: medals, liability insurance ($7,800), medical services ($1,200), water, T-shirts, marketing, giveaways, entertainment etc. In addition to race cost, a portion of the proceeds will be utilized to gift schools and organizations in Englewood, Chatham, and Roseland.
Last year 900+ individuals participated in the race, including City of Chicago Mayor Emanuel and press coverage includes: Chicago Tribune, Bean Soup Times, Blackdoctor.org, WKKC, DNA Info Chicago, WVON, WFLD-TV (FOX 32), WLS-TV (ABC 7), and Chicago Crusader. “Ditch the Weight & Guns” Englewood 5K, Chatham 5K, Roseland 5K is expected to draw a crowd of 3,000.
