The fifth annual End of the WorldMarathon is scheduled for December 4, 2016 on the PlacenciaPeninsula. By all accounts the Placencia Marathon & Half Marathon has proved to be an inspirational day for runners, volunteers, visitors, and residents of the peninsula. Moreover, thanks to the generosity of our many sponsors we raised$31,500 in 2015 for high school scholarships for Belizean children who otherwise would not have been able to attend high school. The End of the World Marathon continues to partner with the Placencia Rotary Club Scholarship Program, which is currently supporting more than two dozenpeninsula high school students for 4 years, mostly from the proceeds of the marathon. This hugely successful program provides guardians and mentors for each student and requires that the students do community service and maintain high grades.
