Part of the IFSA North American Regional Junior Series, Jim Jack's Cowboy Up Freeride Challenge gives young guns ages 18 & Under the chance to have Cowboy Ridge all to themselves. Ripping through pow, between trees and off cliffs, this two-day competition includes qualifiers on Saturday and finals on Sunday, and showcases the next generation of ripping groms.

Jim Jack's Cowboy Up Freeride Challenge pays homage to a legend who help start the IFSA and dedicated his life to pushing the sport of Freeskiing; Mr Jim Jack.

This event is capped at 100 participants.

The event is open to male & female, ages categories U12, 12-14 and 15-18, Ski & Snowboard.

Discounted event tickets available (one day, two day and three day) for day before event and event days to participants, coaches and family members. You will need to show proof of registration at Guest Relations to receive the discount.

Friday, February 3:

9:00am – 4:00pm: Open venue inspection on Cowboy Ridge

3:00pm – 5:00pm: Registration/check-in open (summit Room)

Saturday, February 4:

7:30am – 8:15am: Late registration (Summit Room)

8:00am: Mandatory Athlete meeting (Summit Room)

8:30am: Athlete load inspection run (Must have arm band to load lift) Competitors and Coaches only.  

8:30am- 10:00am (Course inspection)

9:30am: Forerunners

10:00am – 3:30pm: Day 1 runs

4:00pm: Athlete meeting

3:30pm – 6:00pm: Athlete dinner (Summit Room- your dinner voucher will be available in the Summit Room)

Sunday, February 5:

8:00am: Athlete meeting (Summit Room)

8:15am: Athlete load inspection run (Must have armband to load.  Coaches and participants only)

9:00am: Forerunners

9:15am – 12:30pm: Day 2 runs

1:00pm – 2:00pm: Awards (Summit Room)

Other Competitor and Coach information:

Online registration closes on February 2nd at 8:00pm. You will need to register in person on Friday in the Summit Conference Room (Tye Creek Lodge) 3:00pm-5:00pm or Saturday morning 7:30am before the athlete meeting at 8:00am in the Summit Conference Room.  Athlete and coach dinner starts at 3:30pm (grab your voucher in the Summit Conference Room).  We did add a U12 category due to interest level last minute if you have competitors who can ski/ride the venue.  Course layout and starts will be determined by the IFSA judges, Technical Director, Stevens Pass Patrol and Event Manager.  

You will want to make sure to get to Stevens Pass early to ensure you have enough time to get there if the road conditions are bad, park and be at the mandatory athlete meeting on time.
