Registration 

The cost to participate in the 10k 5k race is as follows:

 

 

 

• June 2 - August 11:  $30 for the 10k run and $25 for the 5k run/walk; participants will receive an official Lake Houston 10k 5k Race T-Shirt Runner's Bag 
• August 12 - August 21:  $35 for the 10k run and $30 for the 5k run/walk; race t-shirt is based on availability and not guaranteed
• Race Day Registration will be allowed ONLY IF THE CAP IS NOT MET, but will close no later than 6:50 am, so get there early! Race Day Registration cost is $40 for the 10k and $35 for the 5k; race Dri-FIT shirt is based on availability and not guaranteed.

 

Packet Pick Up

Your packet will include your bib, timing chip, information from sponsors and local businesses and a race t-shirt (provided you registered by August 12). Early Packet Pick Up will be 11 am - 7 pm, Friday, August 22, at King's Harbor. If necessary, participants can arrive early on race day to pick up their packet (before 6:45 am). Please make an effort to pick up your packet during Early Packet Pick Up. 

Packet Pick Up is located in the office building lobby in front of Orion Engineered Carbons.

Awards

An award ceremony will follow the run with a prize of $500 awarded to the overall top male and female runners in the 10k race and $250 awarded to the overall top male and female in the 5k race. New Balance store Gift Certificates (1st place $25, 2nd place $20 & 3rd place $15 for 14 categories both Male and Female). Non-cash awards will also be presented to first, second, and third place male & female finishers in the following categories: 18 & under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 over.

 

 

Event Pictures

PR Photo is proud to be a part of the 2014 Lake Houston 10k 5k. Carl Bergman with Bergman Photography will be taking professional pictures of all participants throughout the race and after party. The pictures will be organized on his website and participants will be able to review and purchase pictures. Be sure that your race bib is visible at all times on the course! This year's photos will be available within 3 days after the event sorted by BIB#  www2.backprint.com/prphoto

 

Timing Chips

All participants will be electronically timed using a ChronoTrack-D disposable chip placed on the back of your race bib. Participants finishing times will be available at the finish line area immediately after the race. Timing Chips will be included in your Race Packet. The Race Course will close at 9:15 am; all participants must be finished by this time.  

 

 

Parking/Traffic

Event Parking is available in the parking garage at the Kings Harbor complex, on side streets next to Kings Harbor or the Humble ISD Instructional Support Center a quarter mile north of Kings Harbor on Magnolia Cove Drive. Please do not park at businesses along West Lake Houston Parkway or in front of any residences and condos. Please plan to arrive early due to road closures beginning at 6:15 am.

 

 

Refreshments & Aid Stations

There will be Aid Stations with sports drinks and water located throughout the course and finish line.

Additional Information

Race participants should arrive at King’s Harbor no later than 6:45 am. The start/finish line for both events is in the back of the main entrance to the Harbor. Please be at the start line area no later than 7 am. DJ Super Sam will be at the start/finish getting everyone ready! We will be using King’s Harbor restroom facilities located in the office building lobby and port a lets near the start/finish line. We suggest stopping by the restrooms before heading out to the starting line. Post-race food will be available. Please be sure to stop by and say hello to our sponsors following the race.

 

All participants who register prior to August 12, are guaranteed to receive a Race Day Dri-FIT Shirt!  Additional Dri-FIT Shirts will be available for late registrants as supplies last. The event takes place Rain or Shine. In case of inclement weather, natural disaster, or other unforeseen circumstances, LHACC reserves the right to cancel the event and/or modify the event for safety concerns.  

 

 

• No refunds will be issued.  
• No switching races two weeks prior to the event.
• No animals, bikes, roller blades, or skateboards are allowed on the course.

 

• Strollers are allowed. For individuals that would like to walk the 10k, you must be able to finish in less than 2 hours, and 1 hour and 45 minutes for the 5k. 

 

 

 

• The Race Course will close at 9:15 am.

10k - Run begins from Magnolia Cove Drive parking lot, proceeds south on W. Lake Houston Parkway (northbound lanes), u-turns north of Kings Parkway and continues north on West Lake Houston Parkway (northbound lanes), u-turns just south of Kings Crossing Drive and continues south on West Lake Houston Parkway (northbound lanes) and concludes in the Magnolia Cove Drive parking lot.

 

5k Run begins from Magnolia Cove Drive parking lot, proceeds south on West Lake Houston Parkway (northbound lanes), u-turns near Maple Spring Place ( in front of Fiesta Azteca Mexican Restaurant ) and continues north on W. Lake Houston Parkway (northbound lanes) and concludes in the Magnolia Cove Drive parking lot.
