The Brazoswood High School student organization, HOSA: Future Health Professionals have decided to host their 2nd annual 5k Fun Run. This year we have decided on a SLIME run with a few zones to run through and a possible top secret medical twist. Grab your friends and family and join in the fun.
All proceeds from the HOSA 5k Fun Run will be donated directly to the family of Osvaldo Chavez, a kindergartener at a local elementary school. Osvaldo was diagnosed with brain tumors in January 2016 and has been battling cancer ever since. His parents are struggling to make ends meet at this time and to try and make him comfortable at home. The doctors have given Osvaldo a poor prognosis, so his parents have not left his side as they have wondered if each day could be his last. The family is in dire need of financial help, but they will not inconvenience anyone by asking for the help.
Event Details
Race Start Time: 8:30 AM
Course – The course is at MacLean Park, passing through a few slime zones. This is will be a fun race based around gathering with friends, family, and the community, so go at your pace and enjoy the course. Remember our purpose here is to give to a local family, and help our community.
Slime Zones – Each zone will have volunteers who will throw non-toxic slime at the participants. The volunteers will do their best to throw the slime at your torso, but wind and other factors can cause the slime to get on your face. Wearing goggles, sunglasses, and other eye wear have been worn at other runs that have flying slime liquids.
Refreshments – There will be volunteers handing out small cups of water along the race trail. Volunteers will also have bags for you to dispose of your trash along the trail. At the end of the race, you can use your food ticket (found in your Race Day Bag) to pick up a hot dog, chips, and drink.
T-Shirt Guarantee – All participants that register by April 21st are guaranteed to receive a race day t-shirt to wear during the run. After March 31st there will be limited quantities available.
