Diploma Dash 5K Run/Walk and Fitness Expo 

EVENT INFORMATION:

Deer Park High School’s 2013 Project Graduation invites you to come out for a morning of fitness and fun for the benefit of Project Graduation. Project Graduation is a parent sponsored all-night, drug free, alcohol free, fun filled party for the enjoyment of our senior class the night of graduation. We want to give our seniors a safe graduation party with lots of fun, fun, entertainment and great prizes in an effort to help make the memories of high school last a lifetime.

PARTICIPATION:

ALL are welcome to run or walk this USATF certified 5K course. We encourage family members of all ages to participate. For the safety of all participants, no bikes, scooters, roller blades, or dogs will be allowed. All young children must be accompanied by a registered adult on the race course.

RACE DAY REGISTRATION:

Race day registration (cash or check only) will be available 6:30AM to 7:15 AM. – DON’T BE LATE!

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:

DPHS Project Graduation Diploma Dash 5K Run/Walk and Fitness Expo is looking for companies, organizations and individuals to support this event. ALL sponsors will be acknowledged in the Race Packet. Title Sponsors (donations of $250 or more) will have their logo or name featured on the race day t-shirts. Please contact Race Director Gena Carter at (832) 584-3100 for more information.

COURSE CERTIFICATION AND TIMING:

Race course will be USATF Certified (#) and chip timing will be provided by Run Houston Timing.

AWARDS:

Awards will be given to the Top 3 Overall Finishers (male and female). Additionally, awards will be given to the Top 3 Finishers in the follow age groups (excluding overall finishers): 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+.

RESULTS:

Results will be posted on http://www.runhoustontiming.net/ and will be available following the event.

REFRESHMENT AND AID/WATER STATIONS:

There will be water stations at the 1 and 2 mile marks. Food and drinks will be available at the post race party.

PACKET PICKUP:

Packet pickup will be held on Friday, May 17th at Deer Park High School, 710 West San Augustine, Deer Park, TX 77536 from 5:30 to 8:00 PM and on race day beginning at 6:30 AM.

PARKING:

Free parking will be available at the Deer Park Community Center, 610 E. San Augustine and at the Dow Park Athletic Complex, 801 E P St., Deer Park, TX. Overflow parking will be available at Deer Park Elementary School, 2920 Luella Ave between San Augustine and P Street.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

All participants who register prior to April 30th are guaranteed to receive a t-shirt! Additional shirts will be available for late registrants as supplies last on race day. Event will take place rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, natural disaster or other unforeseen circumstances, DPHS Project Graduation reserves the right to cancel the event and/or modify the event for safety concerns. NO REFUNDS will be issues.

FEES:

Adults $25, students (18 & under) $20. After April 30th, $30 for adults and $25 for students. Race day $35 (cash or check only)
