Lace up your sneakers and lederhosen and join us for the 2nd Annual Fry Street Oktoberfest 100% for charity 5k and costume contest! This year's race will be benefiting two local non-profit organizations, Denton Community Food Center and The Koan School.

Founded in 1974, the Denton Community Food Center (DCFC) has had as its mission to provide food from a central community storehouse to needy individuals and families in emergency situations. The Food Pantry is an ALL Volunteer Staffed and run, donor funded and supported, community based charity (independent 501c3 organization). They service area includes 21 cities, towns & communities in 31 different zip codes of Northern Denton County.  

Koan is a community-minded independent school with a learner-centered approach to education. Its unique method of individualized, project-based learning deliberately makes use of the local and global community as extensions of the classroom, because that’s at the core of what Koan is as an organization.

​Canned goods, dry goods, dog food, cat food and food donations of all kinds for the DCFC are welcome!

Race Winners and costume contest winners will be announced after the race.

Can't make it to the event day of but still want to particiapte and help raise money for charity? We are including a virtual run option this year for $20 ! Meaning you can run or walk whenever and wherever you want. All registrants will receive a finisher's medal and race shirt.

Online registration closes at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 6th.

*5k shirt guarantee deadline is Sept. 17th. Participants that register after this deadline may still receive a shirt day of the event at a first come, first serve basis.

**Must be 21+ with valid ID to consume alcohol.

Prices will increase day of the event and shirts are not guaranteed. Steins are limited so come out early!

8:30am - 5k registration begins

10:00am - Race Starts

10:45am - Race winners and Costume contest winners announced!

11:00am - Doors open and the 10th Annual Fry Street Oktoberfest will officially begin!

There will live polka music, food, beer and more all day long!

We welcome all ages, but you must be 21+ with valid ID to consume alcohol.

No cancellations or refunds. This is a rain or shine event.
Oktoberfest shirt sizes are not guaranteed on the day of the event.

Prices do not include food at Oktoberfest. Food by the plate will be sold day of for those who wish to enjoy some delicious German food.

Oktoberfest is a free community event. All ages are welcome, but you must be 21+ to consume alcohol. An Oktoberfest ticket must be purchased if you would like the 10th Annual Fry St Oktoberfest Shirt and 3 limited edition steins.
