RIVERBEND RACE!

THANK YOU for everyone who responded to our post-race survey last June. Because of YOU and your great requests and suggestions, we have made changes to make this year’s event even more fun for everyone!

Since the race will be held the weekend following the Riverbend Festival, we feel this will be a Great Post Festival Event ~ to exercise, socialize, eat & drink and take home some nice bling!

We will have a 10K and 5K  

If you register by April 30th, you are automatically entered into a drawing for 2 VIP Passes to the Riverbend Festival.  Festival dates are May 29 – June 1. The winner will be announced and also personally notified and they may pick up their prize on Tuesday, May 28th!! 

Wristband Purchase HAS BEEN ADDED.  Deep discount for Race participants -  You can purchase 2 wristbands at $65.00 each. If you have already entered the race, you will be sent a link to go back in and purchase Festival wristbands. Please let Race Director know you want the link sent to you!  Wristband pickup will be Tuesday, May 28th at C4 Physical Therapy at 6401 Lee Highway.  Hours will be added soon!  Race Packet Pickup on Thursday, June 6th at Parkway Pourhouse on Riverfront Parkway, 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.  Course maps will be added soon.

News Flash!  Volunteers may purchase ONE band at $65.00!!!!  Let the Race Director know if you want one.

June 8th Arrives!   10K Begins at 7:30 a.m.;  5K at 7:30a.m. EST

Day of Registration on June 8th begins at 6:30 a.m. EST

Race Starts and Finishes near the Olgiati Bridge on Riverfront Parkway.  Enjoy post-race festivities, music, food and drinks at the Party Zone between the bridge and Erwin Marine Riverfront building.   

The Top Female and Male Overall Winners in the 5K and 10K will win a framed award which includes a picture of the Coke Stage during the festival.

There will be a special collector’s item award for the Top 3 Male and Female Winners in the Age Groups.  Similar to the Overall Winners awards.

5K Awards will be held at 9:00 a.m.     10K Awards will be held at 9:30 a.m.

Custom medals for all finishers of 5K and 10K.   Icy cold towels  will be provided again at the finish line  by Center for Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics.   Ahhhh!

Great Post Race Food provided by Wally’s Restaurant (meat biscuits) and Chicken Salad Chick!!! Plus, fruit, granola bars and possibly more!

You must have a team code.  Please email the Race Director (Jane Webb) with your Team Name prior to registering!

Due to the upfront nature of event costs, we have a uniform policy of no refunds.  The Race Team is able to transfer your entry to another participant.  The transferee must meet all requirements and deadline for information to Race Director and provide a signed waiver.  We know that plans change and unexpected things come up, but we feel it is most fair to apply a uniform policy to all, instead of an arbitrary line of who merits a refund and who doesn't.
