Event Information

Goal: 
To host an event with Friends and Family Community Connection and Dog Haus Running Club bringing the Pasadena Community together through service and team building. The event would consist of a Food Packing Event and a running relay. Participants would put together teams of 5 with a registration fee of $125. $100 of the registration fee would go towards the food that will be packed that day which amounts to 400 meals per team (@25 cents a meal).

Our goal is to raise $5,000, which will allow us to package 20,000 meals.


How food packaging works:

There are four stations that compose a food packaging event: assembly of the food (rice, dried vegetables, soy protein, and vitamin packet), transition (where a participant is assigned to transfer the assembled food to the weighing and sealing station), weighing and sealing (where the package of food is weighed to the determined weight and sealed with heat sealers) and lastly the packages of food are boxed into boxes of 36 packages (216 meals per box). 
 

Where will the food go?

100% of the food packaged will be donated to local Pasadena Union Station Homeless.

 

This is a Relay Adventure Race!!!  While 1 person is out running, the other 4 team members are packing food. Runners will be running all over Pasadena picking up tickets from each location.  At the end of the race, there will be sponsored prizes and contests to win based on the tickets collected all around town!

There will be yoga classes throughout the event with Dog Haus Running Club, food stands, a juice bar, raffles every hour and music to pack, run and party!
