Come join us on Saturday, April 18, 2015 for the Innaugural 5K benefiting the Angleton Chamber of Commerce Young Entreprenuers Academy (YEA!).

The race will be held at MSR Houston and the course for the 5K will utilize both the road course and kart track.  Not only is this the innaugural race for the 5K but it is also the first time in its nine year history that MSR Houston will host runners on its tracks.

Proceeds from the race will be used to help fund the Angleton Chamber of Commerce's Young Entreprenuers Academy (YEA!).  YEA! is a nationwide program where local chambers work with junior high and high school students to teach them about entreprenuership in a hands-on envirionment.  The program lasts from the start of the school year until the end.  During the program, the students will gain first hand experience that includes developing a business plan, setting up the legal and logistical requirements common to all small businesses, and pitching their business to investors via a formal presentation.

This is the third year that the Angleton Chamber of Commerce has participated in the YEA! program.  While it is still a new program for The Chamber, it is has already experienced tremendous success.  In fact, the winner of the 2012 - 2013 nationwide YEA! competition was a member of The Chamber's innaugural YEA! class.
