The July 4th Council is excited to host the Firecracker 5K run in Lago Vista, Texas on July 4th. What better way to start your celebration of our Nation's Independence than by getting the blood flowing and running through the beautiful hill country streets of Lago Vista, Texas! The 5K course isn’t your typical race; it features beautiful Texas Hill Country scenery and lake views. There are slight hills, as well as downhill portions. Come experience the running community of Lago Vista, an excellent training ground. This race will be chip timed and all pre-registrants who register before June 15 are guaranteed a race T-Shirt.
The Firecracker 5k race kicks off at 7:30 with a one mile race/walk so bring the family.

Come for the race, but stay for the fun. The Firecracker 5k is just the beginning of the 4th of July weekend festivities in Lago Vista. The run is followed by a parade in which racers are invited to join in, walk along and show off your shirts. Events continue throughout the day and include music, food & beverages, vendors, swimming in beautiful Lake Travis and culminate in a spectacular fireworks show over the water. Come spend a day in a welcoming lake community.
Awards:
The awards ceremony will start at 9:00 AM at the announcers location. Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd, and third place to male and female winners for the Firecracker 5K race in the following categories and age groups:
Overall, Under 18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and over 70.
All participating kids in the 1 mile Fun Run/Walk will receive a red, white and blue participation ribbon. However, there is something for everyone even young competitors. The following kid age groups will receive awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place:
Under 6, 6-11, and 12-16
All participants will also be encouraged to walk through the parade to show off their ribbons and t-shirts.
