Each
year hundreds of Berkshire County children and adolescents find the courage to
say "Someone is hurting me". When they do, they look to us -
their parents, teachers, neighbors, their communities, to stop the abuse and
help them heal.
Berkshire
County has the highest reporting rate of child abuse in the state of
Massachusetts. Child abuse is a real problem in our community, and
when a child experiences trauma related to sexual and physical abuse
and/or witness to domestic violence, Berkshire County Kids' Place is here to
help.
Kids'
Place offers a safe, child-friendly environment for forensic interviews and
medical evaluations of the child victim, and on-going clinical support for the
child and non-offending family members. All services provided to the
victims and their family are free of charge.
Kids'
Place relies heavily on the support of the community to be able to provide the
necessary help and support to the children we serve so that they are able to
heal from their trauma. A safer tomorrow starts today.
Please
consider taking a stand against child abuse and helping us reach our goal!
