Terlingua Track Club 56th LP Run

The 56th LP Run is scheduled for Saturday morning May 24, 2025, at Rice University Track Stadium, continuing the tradition started over 55 years ago.

7:33 am – Men’s Run

8:20 am – Kids’ Lap Run

8:40 am – Women’s Run

This is the 56th running of the oldest race in Texas. You can boast on Sunday morning that you ran on the same track as Olympic Medalists Clayton Murphy and Matt Centrowitz and that you finished at the same time as Houston’s premier runners. Run as many RPMs (laps) as you please in 33:20. Pre-LP lbs. weigh-in for Clydesdales and Rubens. The racecourse is around a beautiful 400 meter bouncy synthetic track – no asphalt or concrete or potholes!  Run at Rice University. By arriving early or staying late, the rare opportunity exists to actually watch some of Houston’s best runners.

After 6:30 am Saturday May 24th: $55, (HARRA $50) PIM $46, Students $33, Kids $5; Registration closes 30 minutes before each heat!

Awards to the top two finishers in each of the following:

Clydesdale division: Men weighing 195 or over

Rubens division: Women weighing 145 or over

Limerick Competition: Awards to the entrants with the best limericks. Unlimited entries accepted.

Kid’s Run

Starting at approximately 8:20 am and sandwiched between the Men’s Race (7:33 am) and Women’s Race (8:40 am) is the Second Annual kid’s Run – a noncompetitive 1 lap run/walk around Rice Track for kids ages 12 and under. Registration fee online is $3 on Race Day it is $5. Awards to all finishers!

Awards to 1st overall male and female in both open and masters. Awards will also go to the top three men and women in each of the following age groups:

12-19          45-49

20-24         50-54

40-44         70-74

75-79         80 +

90 +

NO Duplicate Awards.

Clean shirts and shoes will be collected for donation to the Salvation Army

Each entrant is assigned a lane based on the age group of the entrant. Each entrant is responsible for keeping track of their total laps run. The best way is to bring a companion who can keep count from the bleachers. Lap sheets will be provided. Each lap counter must confirm with the runner after the race the number of whole laps run & record the number on the lap sheet.
