COURSE

8k course: The typically flat and fast 8k race will have a detour this year due to construction in the boat house area. The route for 2025 will be certified. As always, you will be treated to great views of downtown Des Moines from the Grays Lake Pedestrian Bridge!

Uni-sex race shirts to first 200 pre-registered runners.

All participants will receive a ticket good for one beverage at the post-race celebration at Confluence Brewing.

GETTING THERE:   Gray's Lake Park is located just South of downtown on Fleur Avenue. From the north, merge onto I-235 take exit 7A ML King Parkway and head South 2.3 miles (MLK Ave becomes Fleur Ave).  From the South, take Highway 65/Hwy 5 Bypass to Army Post Road and head North on Army Post then left onto Fleur Drive. Take Fleur Dr. until Gray's Lake is on your right.

Limited Parking is available at Gray's Lake and Waterworks Park. Additional parking can be found at CDS Global front lot: 1901 Bell Avenue  (Thomas Beck Road)  There is a short bike path that leads directly to the Southeast corner of Grays from this parking lot.  After parking follow the short well marked paved bike path to the Northwest corner of Grays lake and the Start/Finish line.

AWARDS:   Award winners will be announced at the post-race party, held at Confluence Brewing. Gift cards will be given to overall 1st $100, 2nd $50, 3rd $25; plus medals to the top 3 places in 10-year age groups through age 70+, male and female.

Only one award per person.
