EVENT INFORMATION

Come out on a Saturday morning and spend some quality time with your area first responders as we pay
tribute to Captain Charles Krampota – LODD AVFD. The Alvin Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting
a run, walk, ruck along the scenic Tom Blakeney Jr. Hike & Bike Trail starting and finishing at the National
Oak Park. Stay to watch as your hometown heroes test themselves to win coveted prizes.

Fun Run:
 5k Run, Walk, Ruck
 Open to everyone
 All registered participants will receive a T-Shirt

The First Responder Challenge:
 5k Stokes Basket/Spine Board Carry w/ 150lbs Minimum Dry Weight (Police, Fire, EMS)
 Four person team
 Prizes for 1st , 2nd & , 3rd place

All proceeds go to the Alvin Volunteer Fire Department equipment project.


Rules for First Responder Challenge:
Requirements:
• Four (4) x Person First Responder Team (Fire, EMS, Police)
• One (1) x Stokes Basket or Spine Board. Must bring your own.
• One (1) x “Rescue Randy” w/ minimum weight of 150 lbs or equivalent dry weight w/ minimum of 150 lbs. Must bring your own.
Rules:
• Team Competition Start Time: 7:30 a.m. CST
• May run or walk the race.
• Teams must remain together from start to finish.
• Team may rotate around the stokes basket/spine board during race.
• No straps, gloves, webbing, etc. may be used to assist in carrying the weight. GRIP STRENGTH ONLY!
• If a team-member must medically drop out, the remaining members may finish the race.
• Stokes baskets/spine boards with weight will be weighed prior to race start and again at the finish.
• No persons are allowed to be carried in the stokes basket.
Awards:
• All participants will receive a t-shirt and team race bib(s).
• Awards will be given to the top 3 teams.
