  1. Awards: 

The high point awards honor the top two male and female swimmers in each age group. 

All swimmers who finish and record their results with USMS on all five ePostal events and participate in all three Open Water Swims will receive special recognition.

The most improved swimmer from one year to the next in each ePostal event will receive special recognition.

  1. Eligibility:  To be eligible, swimmers must be registered with U S Masters Swimming (USMS) and have self-identified through USMS as being part of Sawtooth Masters (SAWS), and swim in a minimum of one ePostal sponsored through US Masters Swimming (USMS) and one eligible open water swim in Idaho.

One-Event swimmers are not eligible, even if they pay the One-Event fee more than once.

               USMS 1-Hour ePostal Nationals;

                        Jan 1 – Feb 28, Date has passed, points count for swimmers who participated.

            USMS 5K/10K ePostal Nationals (50 meter pools only)

                        5K – Saturday, May 20, 2017; 7-9 a.m. West Y (space limited to 6 swimmers)

                                Saturday July 8, 2017; 5:00 p.m. West Y following Boise Y Long Course Meter Event

                        10K – Saturday, July 15, 2017; 6:30 a.m. West Y

               USMS 3000/6000-Yard ePostal Nationals (25 yard or 25 meter pools only)

                        3000 Yard ePostal – Date and Time to Be Determined

                        6000 Yard ePostal – Date and Time to Be Determined

  1. Scoring Divisions:  Points for each event are awarded based on swimmer’s place in their division.  Divisions are determined by age and gender; age categories 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44 (five year age groups as high as necessary).  The eligibility of a swimmer shall be determined by the age of the swimmer on December 31 of the year of competition, except for 18-year-olds, who must be 18 on the day that they swim.
  2. Rules for Category Swimwear for Open Water Events:  Category I and Category II swimwear shall be as defined as in USMS Part 3: Open Water and Long Distance swimming Rules, Swimwear for Open Water Events; Article 303.7.  A complete set of rules are available on the USMS website.

Category I:  Swimwear shall include only a swimsuit, cap or caps (including those made of neoprene when the water temperature is not greater than 78 degrees Fahrenheit), and goggles.

Category II:  Swimwear that does not meet the requirements for category I swimwear shall be considered category II swimwear.  Swimwear may include a swimsuit or wetsuit, cap or caps, goggles, armbands, and rash guards. 

  1. High Points:  A swimmer’s high points will be on the total of all points accrued in all events.  Rankings are based on total points within their division as described above.
