Coaches

HEAD COACH, RICK McQUET

Rick is a USMS Level 3 Masters Certified Swim Coach and has been involved in aquatics for over 40 years.   He swam and played water polo in high school, and attended Stanford University on a water polo scholarship.  Following graduation, Rick played professional water polo in Bergamo, Italy, before returning to California to train for the 1996 Olympic Water Polo Team (Atlanta).  Rick then returned to Stanford to receive his MBA. He worked as a fund manager for many years, and is the Co-Founder of Club Hill Capital.  

In his spare time, he enjoys training for triathlons.  He has completed two 70.3 races, and competed at the USAT Age Group Nationals in 2014 and 2015.  He moved to Boise from Chicago, and grew up in Northern California.  Rick is married to Jennifer, an educator and teacher, and an Idaho native.  They have two sons, one at Princeton, and the other a senior in high school.

ASSISTANT COACH, KYLE GRISHAM

Kyle began his swimming career in 1997 when he joined the Boise YMCA Swim Team at the age of 13. He was a member of the Boise High School varsity swim team for three seasons, and was the team captain his senior year. Kyle was part of the Idaho state record breaking 400 freestyle relay team, and competed at the 2001 YMCA National Championship meet. He then continued his swimming career at University of Wyoming.

After graduating from University of Wyoming in 2006,  Kyle began coaching evening Masters sessions at the downtown YMCA. It was during this time that he developed a passion for triathlon and competed as an elite triathlete for several years before returning to competitive swimming. Kyle now coaches morning Masters sessions, and competes alongside his athletes.

ASSISTANT COACH, ASHLEY WOLFE

Ashley swam for the Boise Y Swim Team from 2006 to 2008. She then went on to swim for University of Nevada Reno from 2009-2013. For two of those years, Ashley was Team Captain. Her primary events were 100, 200 Breaststroke, 200 IM and the breaststroke portion in all relays. In addition, she was named Nevada Wolf Pack Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the year 2010-2011.

Ashley first swam Masters in 2008 coached by our very own Coach Kyle and then came back every summer in between college seasons to train with the best.  She started coaching Masters in the fall of 2014 and for the Triathlon Club in Spring of 2015.

Ashley will be coaching the new Tues/Thurs time slot. 

ASSISTANT COACH, VICKI MARSH

Vicki brings a lifetime of swimming experience and accomplishment to our workouts.  After a much decorated collegiate swimming career at Western llinois University, and later a national top ten masters swimmer in numerous events, Vicki is now a part-time swim coach (SAWS and Boise Y age group) and a highly sought-after Official on both a local and national stage.  She is a Lifetime Member USA Swimming, ASCA Level 4 coach and USA/YMCA Swimming Official Trainer.  In addition to coaching and officiating, Vicki has been the General Chair of Snake River LSC since 2013 and has served on the National Board of Directors with USA Swimming and the YMCA Swimming & Diving Advisory Board.  

Vicki met her husband, Todd (Head Coach, Boise Y Swim Team) while at Western Illinois U, and together they have dedicated their careers to coaching and serving in USA Swimming.  They have two adult children who both swam competitively, and are the proud grandparents of two adorable grandsons who live in Spokane with their daughter.
