The committee for the 9^th Annual Arlington Turkey Trot is thrilled to announce the 2018 turkey day tradition will once again benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Arlington! This means, as a sponsor, your generous contribution will go directly to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Arlington enabling them to continue their incredible tradition of service to the kids in our community.

About the Beneficiary:

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Arlington, has been serving the youth of Arlington for over 57 years. With approximately .88 cents of every dollar earned going directly back to the youth in the community, and helping more than 8,000 kids a year, the Arlington Turkey Trot committee knew they had found the organization with whom they wanted to partner.

As stated on their website, the mission of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Arlington is simple. They strive “To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.” With four branches serving Arlington, as well as locations set up within 14 Arlington schools, the Boys and Girls Clubs reach is vast, and they offer services to every child, regardless of the family’s ability to pay. The programs offered by Boys and Girls Clubs focus on: Character and Leadership, Health and Wellness, and Academic Success. Steve Wurm, the Chief Executive Officer for Boys and Girls Clubs of Arlington, thinks an event such as the Arlington Turkey Trot, which promotes healthy activity and community togetherness, is a perfect fit, and the Trot agrees. 

“Healthy Lifestyles is a pillar of our programming,” he begins, “as we work to make sure our Club members are engaging in positive behaviors allowing them to cultivate their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults. The Arlington Turkey Trot provides families with a time to gather and celebrate the season all while supporting youth who need us the most in our community.”
