What: Snowdrop 55 Hour Ultra Race is for Individuals or Teams of up to 10 runners.

The Course:   The course USATF Certified at .69045 mile loop course on crushed granite and pavement.

We are an ULTRA race that raises funds for charity.   Why you ask, the answer lies in one of sport's greatest paradoxes: running for others is one of the most self-serving things an athlete can do.

http://snowdropfoundation.org/rules/

The following rules are established for safety, fairness and decency.  The Snowdrop Foundation ULTRA 55 Hour Race and Relay is intended to be competitive race and fundraising event but also a fun event.  No one on the race committee want to be in the position of policing the runners.  The last thing we want to have to do is disqualify (DQ) a runner.  Nevertheless, we will enforce the rules.   At the race committee’s discretion, a minor offense, where advantage is not gained, will result in a warning to the runner.   Also at the race committee’s discretion, major infractions, or minor ones by runners who have already had one warning, will result in a DQ.  Please follow the rules and everyone – the runners and those of us on the committee – will be extremely happy.

Runner Rules:

  • All solo competitors and team captains must be checked in by 6:30am race morning.
  • We assume that whether runners are moving fast or slow at any given time, all are tryin for their best performance,  Thus there is no need to move out of the way for someone who may want to pass.  Faster runners should generally assume that they will have to pass slower runners on the outside.  The only exception is runners/walkers that are two abreast, please move to the outside of the course to let other runners get by.
  • No Pacers Allowed
  • The following items are not allowed ON the race course: rollerblades, bicycles, dogs or animals, joggers/strollers, scooters, trek poles, skateboards, and any other device that may endanger others or put runners at an advantage over the other participants. Runners may not use walking sticks, ski poles, or the like. Jet packs and hovercrafts are cool, but not allowed on the course.
  • Runners may leave the course at any time but must start back from the point at which you stopped. Advancing beyond this spot will result in immediate disqualification.
  • Runners my not run in grass, either inside or outside the course.
  • There are plenty of restroom facilities and porta-johns use them, or face disqualification. ’nuff said
  • Littering & Property Damage; Any runners that are reported to have damaged private or public property or to have littered will be disqualified and will not be invited back. After being disqualified you will be deep fried and fed to the locals. Toilets and trash cans will be provided. You will be held liable for any and all damages.
  • Can’t believe we have to add this to rules but nudity is strictly forbidden. Nobody wants to see naked people running. EVER!
  • Runners may not used banned substances as defined by USATF and WADA.
  • Race numbers must be worn and visible on the front of each runner at all times while on the course. Bib numbers must be pinned to the outer most
  • Layer of clothing, including jackets, shorts, and reflective vests.
  • Runners can be penalized for the actions of their crew. This would suck, so pay attention
  • Laps will be calculated via computer running chip provided by chip timing
  • Head lamps are mandatory at night.
  • Headphones are allowed. All runners may use them as long as they do not impede anyone else’s progress or safety.
  • If a runner withdraws from the event the crew must immediately notify a race official. If an official is not nearby contact the race director
