Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the 2nd Annual St. Rita International Community 5K Run 2015
We are excited to see this event grow every year, and friendly and capable volunteers certainly add to the success of an event.
The St. Rita International Community 5K Run is a family-friendly event designed to bring the community together.
The day includes a 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run plus our International Fair with food booths, entertainment, and games.
All volunteers receive a complimentary International Fair t-shirt

Assist in setting up site for all duties that will be performed to ensure we have a successful beginning of race.

Oversee event and ensure all is running smoothly and with safety on mind at all times. Assign any new people where needed. After the race, make all announcements and assist in passing out awards. Cheer all runners and workers.

Water setup and distribution
Prepare at least 3 sets of tables, chairs, ice containers, water and towels for water stations. Put on any safety vests or lights needed. Deliver and set up two water stations leaving one extra if needed.

Volunteer Positions & Descriptions
Route cones setup
Setup cones, 6 feet apart throughout the entire course. Cones should be 6 feet from curb or any car or obstacle along the course. Additional cones may be needed at any street crossings. 2 trucks may be needed. Including driver plus two people in the back unstacking and stacking cones and one person placing the cones on the street. Minimum 4 persons per truck. During race, help any people (runners or workers) needing transportation and bring in any workers after race. Monitor the complete course for assistance.

Water station attendants
Help setup water station if needed. Prepare water bottles to be handed to runners. Hand water to runners as needed. Cheer runners as they come by. Clean-up after the last runner has passed. Report to officials any problems that may arise.

Welcome all runners with congratulations. Pass out any refreshments. Invite all to stay for our International Fair. Especially where our food stands are located. Help any that have lost any items.

Volunteer Waiver
Please read any waiver carefully. It includes a release of liability and waiver of legal rights and deprives you of the ability to sue certain parties. Do not agree to this document unless you have read and understood it in its entirety. By agreeing electronically, you acknowledge that you have both read and understood the text presented to you as part of the registration process. You also understand and agree that events carry certain inherent dangers and risks which may or may not be readily foreseeable, including without limitation personal injury, property damage or death. Your ability to participate in the event(s) is/are subject to your agreement to the waiver and by agreeing herein, you accept and agree to the terms of the waiver and release agreement. You must be over 18 years of age OR the parent/legal guardian of a minor under 18 years of age OR the legal guardian of an incapacitated and/or mentally challenged person in order to agree to the text below.

Waiver of Liability & Release: In consideration of your accepting this entry, I, the undersigned, intending to be legally bound, hereby, for myself, my heirs, executors, assigns and administrators, waive and release any and all claims for damages, demands, action and causes of actions against St Rita Catholic Church, Fort Worth Dioceses, St Rita’s 37th Annual International Fair, the sponsors, any and all persons or entities associated with this event and their affiliations, subsidiaries, officials, representatives, employees, successors and assigns (collectively, the "Releases") for any and all injuries suffered by me in this event or while on the premises of event including bodily injury, death, or property damage, whether caused by falls, contact with participants, conditions of the course, or negligence or carelessness of the Releases or otherwise.  Further, I hereby grant full permission for the free use of my name and/or photographs, videotapes, recordings or any other record of the event for any legitimate purpose.  Fees are non-refundable.
