This year, about 22,440 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer and about 14,070 women will die, making ovarian cancer the leading cause of death from gynecologic cancers. Unfortunately, because there is no screening or early detection test available and ovarian cancer symptoms are subtle, only 25% of ovarian tumors are detected before they have progressed to an advanced stage.
On Race Day, survivors, their families and friends, businesses and MD Anderson employees will come together to achieve two goals:
1. Raise funds for research
2. Increase awareness about ovarian cancer and its symptoms
MD Anderson ranks #1 for cancer care in the nation - let's help with their mission to Make Cancer History!
