Hope - Courage - Love
Hello and Thank You for visiting our team fundraising page!! Last year, a group of us got together to challenge ourselves and see if we could conquer a 55 hour around the clock relay ultra marathon. What we got out of the experience was so much more than just physically finishing. We ran in circles, for hours, staring at the faces of children who were dealt a shitty hand at this thing called life. These children are faced with that awful C word that we all have learned to hate - CANCER!! Really puts things in perspective when you see the struggle they are facing, but yet smiles on their faces that could light up a room!!
That being said - This year, we have decided to make this event about Sam and not ourselves. We will be running in honor of Sam, who is 7 years old and is fighting leukemia. We are asking for donations. All donations will go to the Snowdrop Foundation in Sam’s name. Snowdrop will give about 25% of the money to Texas Children’s for sarcoma research and about 75% goes to those children who are in remission and need scholarships to help them finish their education that was disrupted by the cancer.
No gift is too small!!!
Thank you
More about Sam:
Just had his 7th birthday on July 23rd!
Diagnosed with Autism when he was 3 years old
At age 5, he was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
This past May, he was diagnosed with ALL leukemia.
Sam is outgoing and doesn't let autism define him nor has he let DMD stop him from trying to run or jump.
He is a little trooper even when he gets chemo. He never complains, instead he sucks it up and says okay when his mom tells him it's time for chemo, therapy or doctors visits.
We are humbled by Sam's courage and positivity, and it will be an honor to be running for him.
