21ST ANNUAL SPRINT FOR LIFE
Fundraising For The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center: Ovarian Cancer Research

Martha's Mighty Misfits is a team created in remembrance of Martha Catalina Prieto. Martha was diagnosed with Stage IV Ovarian Cancer July 21, 2016. She went to the urgent care due to shortness of breath and was rushed to Memorial Hermann Memorial City hospital. Her lungs were full of fluid which was causing the difficulty in her breathing. At first physicians told Martha it was pneumonia. Later, the physician's found a tumor in Martha's CT scans. Martha began chemotherapy in August and had surgery in October.

Martha fought with all of the might she had. Unfortunately, the cancer had spread throughout her body and Martha lost her battle in February 2017. Martha was surrounded with love and supported from day one!! Her closest friends/family supported her everyday until the very end.

Please join Martha's Mighty Misfits on May 5th. In the event you cannot make it to the race, please consider making a donation to the cause. Ovarian cancer is a silent killer. You truly do not know the hardships until your family is faced with this disease. By donating you are supporting physician's and researchers attempts to find a cure.
