Why I’m Running a 55 Hour Relay
This December, I’ve joined a team of 10 runners working together to maintain 55 nonstop hours of running. This time it's not for medals or personal records, but to raise money for the SnowDrop Foundation and the families it serves.
I’ve committed to running at least 10 of those hours (and more if needed), because this is a cause that really tugs at my heartstrings. And not just as a runner, but as a mother thinking about what families carry long after treatment ends.
SnowDrop Foundation funds pediatric cancer research, an area that is severely underfunded. In fact, only about 4% of government funding towards cancer goes to pediatric cancer research.
But what truly sets SnowDrop apart is their commitment to provide college scholarships for childhood cancer survivors and teens currently undergoing treatment.
I can only imagine the emotional toll it takes on parents worrying about how to pay for college after months or years of medical bills and time away from work.
SnowDrop helps make that future possible.
Every dollar raised helps to ease the financial burden on families and gives kids something powerful to hold onto: hope and opportunity.
More money raised = more scholarships awarded.
It’s that simple. And that meaningful.
I will run for 10 hours. I will be tired. I will be uncomfortable.
But it will truly all be worth it we can raise the money needed to support these kiddos. If you’re able to donate, please know that your support goes far beyond this run. You’re opening doors for these kids who have already fought harder than most of us ever will.
Thank you for caring. Thank you for supporting us, TEAM SLOWDROP, and the SnowDrop Foundation. And thank you for helping turn miles into something that truly matters.
Please do NOT choose the "per lap" option as that includes our entire team's total laps. Oh, did I mention this is a .66 mile loop?!
Thank you! Thank you!
Love, Chanel
