I don’t know anyone personal to me that is a child battling cancer but our team is running for Peyton who was diagnosed in October of 2019 at the age 9 with Stage 4, High-risk Neuroblastoma, which is a very aggressive and tough-to-treat type of cancer. Peyton is a friend and in the same grade as our team captain’s daughter. Now having a son of my own who is almost 7 months old and whom I ran with every day of my pregnancy, I am doing what I can to help others. You never know when something might happen and so I do something every day that my future self will thank me for. You hope that it won’t happen to you or someone you know but life is often unfair and things happen to good people for no reason. That is what will be the fuel behind my miles as I run in honor of Peyton, the kids before her and after her - all in support of the Snowdrop Foundation.
