Hey everyone! I want to introduce you to a friend of our's nephew:
Hudson Baker was 4 years old and lives in Texas. He recently lost his fight to a type of brain cancer called, Sonic Hedgehog Medulloblastoma.
His diagnosis came as a complete shock on November 22, 2021, when Hudson was 2 years old. He was sick for a couple of weeks, and as his symptoms became more obvious and severe, they took him to the emergency room. And that was the day the Doctors discovered a mass on his brain.
Hudson immediately underwent emergency surgery to drain the fluid to release the pressure. Following the emergency surgery, his Doctors scheduled an all-day surgery on November 26, 2021 (Thanksgiving Day) to completely remove the mass. We feel incredibly grateful that Hudson had one of the best Surgeons, who completed this surgery successfully. Although this was a success, it would be the beginning of Hudson's fight against cancer.
Hudson was so incredibly resilient, and after undergoing six months of Chemotherapy treatments, he beat cancer. But quickly surprised by the return of cancer about six months later. He started his next fight on January 7, 2023 as he started radiation therapy treatments. Brittany and Jana have a loving village, full of friends and family who have shown enormous support during this incredibly difficult time.
This year I am running to honor Hudson and his fight and truly appreciate everyone's support. Our gratitude will spread even farther than Hudson, as we have a heart for helping more kids that may have similar fights ahead.
XOXO
