Dear Friends and Family,
Two years ago for my bar mitzvah project, I gathered people to participate in the annual MD Anderson Sprint for Life benefiting ovarian cancer research in honor of my cousin Terri Groner, who passed away from ovarian cancer, as well as my great-grandmother Carolyn Groner, who was an ovarian cancer survivor. But, my participation was not a one-time thing! As long as I'm able to, I will continue to participate in Sprint for Life.
My cousin Terri’s team, which was active while she was battling ovarian cancer at MD Anderson, was known as Team Tumornator. It seemed only fitting that we would continue the tradition moving forward. I'm so proud that for the past two years Team Tumornator has been the top fundraising team and that I was the 2nd and 3rd highest individual fundraiser (in 2018 and 2017), which would have not have been possible without all the support of my friends and family. I know Terri would be SO happy that we are continuing this tradition.
I hope that you will join me again in supporting this really worthy and important cause. Because there is little early screening and the symptoms are subtle, ovarian cancer is usually not diagnosed until the cancer has progressed to an advanced stage. Sprint for Life raises funds for research and increases awareness of ovarian cancer and its symptoms.
Thank you so much for helping me reach my goal this year!
