Due to ovarian cancer's non-specific symptoms and lack of early detection tests, only about 20 percent of all cases are found early (stage 1 or 2). This statistic is unacceptable to me. We need more research and better early screening tests to improve the survival outcome for ovarian cancer. We must do better! Since 2013, Team Tumornator (which was started by my cousin Terri Groner in 2013 while she was going through treatment for ovarian cancer at MD Anderson) has been running strong. Sadly, my super bubbly and contagiously happy cousin Terri, who like so many other was not diagnosed early, lost her fight against ovarian cancer. But, she is not forgotten. I race on in her name and also for my grandmother, Carolyn Groner, who was an ovarian cancer survivor. Please help me make a difference in the fight against ovarian cancer.
