Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! Free the Captives is a faith based organization that works with the Houston Police Department to fight the exploitation and trafficking of Houston’s youth.
Free the Captives’ Freedom Fest & 5k is the biggest fundraising event of the year for this organization that is dear to my heart. If you are able to donate any amount big or small, it would be greatly appreciated!
My team, The Fabulous Freedom Fighters, will be running Saturday April 22nd! Please feel free to run with us if you are not able to donate!
Free the Captives works to:
- RESCUE trafficked teenagers by working closely with law enforcement,
- RESTORE victims by providing direct services such as mentoring, tutoring, shelter, & material assistance,
- EMPLOY victims in our job program and provide much needed income and life skills
- PREVENT trafficking through programming for at-risk teenaged girls and providing education in schools,
- DETER and reduce the demand by focusing on the buyers/Johns through our “Buy Sex? Bye, bye Freedom!” billboard, radio and TV campaign,
- CONDUCT RESEARCH to provide much needed data and to shape public policy, and
- EDUCATE thousands of people each year through our annual conference and trainings.
Did you know the average age of a girl being trafficked in Houston is between the ages of 12 and 14 years old? Can you imagine your daughter being caught up in this horrific nightmare? We engage and mobilize the community while partnering with non-profits, churches, law enforcement, and government agencies in the fight against modern day slavery.Our goal is to combat teenaged sex trafficking through engaging and equipping our volunteers.
