Last year, I participated in my first crossfit competition ever...reluctant, nervous, and a little nauseous, but I pushed through because it was all for a good cause, to support Stuff the Sleigh....and it was the most rewarding experience. Stuff the Sleigh is a certified 501(c)3 non-profit organization, dedicated to helping children and their families experience, for a moment in time, the joy and spirit of Christmas through year-round giving to those children who are affected by cancer and hematological conditions. To hear first hand what these families have gone through and how Stuff the Sleigh brought some moments of joy and relief to these children and their families, some of which were the last few happy moments they might have together as a family, touched my soul. Stuff the Sleigh helps to keep hope alive where its been lost, restore a child's innocence when its been stolen from them, and allow them for a brief moment in time to be a kid again and believe in all things that children believe in. This year, I am participating in the same crossfit competition, to help support this organization, without hesitation, because I know that at the end, when I'm laying on the floor, to the point of exhaustion, wondering who or what is going to come peel me off the floor, that I will get off that floor...that my exhaustion doesn't come close to what these children and families have experienced, and because I want to be part of something that helps these children and families believe again.
