Hope - Courage - Love
Six years ago I was asked to be on a relay team for a 55 hour race in honor of my friend's daughter, Pearl, who was going through treatment for cancer. Six years ago I was introduced to the Snowdrop Foundation, all of the amazing things they do, and all of the outstanding people involved. Every year since then I keep coming back!
I started 2019 off with a bang! A 100 mile bang! What a journey it was to complete the Ultra this year, but I couldn't have done it without my family, my Snowdrop Family, and Pearl! Her sign stayed on the course for all 55 hours, and every loop I made I gave her sign a little tap of appreciation and love.
The Snowdrop Foundation provides scholarships for pediatric cancer patients and survivors to attend college, an opportunity that some thought they might never have. They also provide funds for research at Texas Children's Hospital. Since 2006 Snowdrop has award almost $500,000 in scholarships and over $725,000 to Texas Children's Hospital.
After hearing countless stories, and even seeing first hand, of what these children go through during treatment and the effects that impact the rest of their lives, what we experience trying to run for 55 hours to bring awareness to their pain and bravery is nothing.
Please be apart of the change in the world of treatments and quality of life for these children. No donation is too small, and if a monetary donation is not something you are able to do at the moment, think about volunteering. The Snowdrop Foundation hosts several opportunities for volunteers throughout the year.
