Hello Everyone,
I have always wanted to find a way
to give back through the endurance challenges that I do, and I wanted to let
everyone know about an opportunity to make a little girls dream of schooling an
opportunity for someone else. I am raising money in honor of my Aunt Cherie Lou
Reed. Cherie Lou was known for her love of school and her love of learning,
even at such a young age - she couldn’t wait for the day she would be able to
go to kindergarten. My grandmother said that she would play school with her dolls, stuffed animals, and she planned to wear her church shoes to school when
she was finally old enough to attend. Unfortunately, Cherie Lou passed away at
age 4 before her dream of school was ever realized. Though she was not able to
attend school, I hope to raise scholarship funds through the Snowdrop
Foundation to give survivors of childhood cancer the opportunity to go to
college. I hope to raise $1,500 through donations or lap pledges. I hope to raise
more, but any amount that you are willing to donate is helpful. This will be a
55-hour race where I will complete as many laps as possible on a .67 mile
course starting December 30th - January 1st. I have a goal of 224 laps (150 miles). If you are a business owner and would like to sponsor my efforts and donate or do
a pledge-per-lap, I would like to take some loop photos at the event and do
online shoutouts for your company if you have a hat or shirt I could wear. Please reach out to me if you have
questions. Through this event, Cherie Lou is going to help someone go to school!
If you have someone you would like to honor as well, I will be finding a way to
have the names of said persons with me throughout the race.
For Aunt Cherie Lou.
