ME STRONG Linda’s Run for the Dream 5k Run/Walk is an event that encourages the community to commit to healthy living.  As the largest 5k in Volusia County our participants appreciate the highly spirited course complete with cheer zones and music capturing the spirit of historic DeLand.

ME STRONG began when a core group of friends organized a 5k Run/Walk in honor of Linda Ryan.  Linda was diagnosed with recurrent cervical cancer at age 43, she had just successfully completed her first marathon.  After much thought and discussion the came up with the idea of a 5k with a goal to promote healthy living.  This 5k led to the creation of a 501c3 charity – ME STRONG whose mission is to support the friends, family, and individual battling cancer through the power of friendship.
