Susan M. Turley was 25 years old when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. She passed away just 5 months after receiving her diagnosis. During her brief battle, she and her husband of just 6 months enjoyed a weekend away. For those few days, they were able to forget about cancer and the impact it had on their lives. As a memorial to Susan and all other young adults who have suffered from cancer, the Susan M. Turley Foundation provides One Weekend Away for those battling cancer. The 5th Annual Susan's Run for Young Adult Cancer - Arizona will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Kiwanis Park in Tempe, Arizona.
Proceeds from this event will enable more young adult cancer patients to enjoy a restful weekend away with their loved ones, providing a much needed respite from the physical, emotional and mental ravages of their disease.
