On Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 2351 Performance Drive, Richardson, Texas 75080. I will be participating in the HFC 5K and 1K Fun Run to raise money for Heroes for Children to support families who are battling childhood cancer.

This year, I am participating in honor of  my best-friends son Jackson Cole Seely.  On November 16, 2012 at 6 months old, Jackson Seely was diagnosed with a rare cancer called Infantile Fibrosarcoma.  They had a rough 6 months, but got through it with lots of support. The short story is Jackson went through two rounds of chemo and had his tumor successfully removed February 8, 2013. He is doing great now and we continue to pray for no signs of the cancer returning. We would like to help contribute to this cause in honor of our son Jackson. We want to invite all of our family and friends who were so helpful and strong for us to join us to walk or run in Jackson's honor.

Heroes for Children provides financial and social assistance to Texas families with children battling cancer. In order to provide constant care for their child, parents frequently lose or quit their jobs. The money Heroes for Children donates to families helps relieve some of the strain and stress during this difficult time. Whether it is to pay a medical bill, buy gas for the frequent trips to the hospital, or keep a family from having their electricity turned off, Heroes for Children is committed to helping families battling childhood cancer.

Over 800 families benefited from Heroes for Children’s support in 2013 – with an average assistance of $750 per request. With Heroes for Children spending $15,000 - $20,000 per WEEK to help families who are struggling while their child battles this disease, they need our support to continue to fund every request.
