We are so blessed that our sweet Hayley has been healthy & cancer free for 2 years and 4 months thanks to the amazing Neuroblastoma Team at Cook Children's Medical Center. Dr. Granger and her team embraced us with loving arms on our first appointment on Halloween Day 2013. We unknowingly dressed Hayley up as a Minion trying to keep things as normal as we possibly could to only find the entire Neuroblastoma team was also dressed like Minions. An instant sense of peace came over us as we knew The Lord was watching over our family and had sent Hayley to the right people to care for her.
The entire Cook’s family has made this difficult journey bearable in so many ways to the point Hayley actually asks when she can go back to the “Blue Hospital” to visit her friends. This experience will always remain a part of our lives and our hope is that Hayley’s zest for life and energetic spirit can be an inspiration for those children currently going through treatment when she joyously rushes in for her 6 month check-ups.
All the money that is raised for this race goes directly to the Cook Children’s Neuroblastoma department to help them continue in their research and treatment of Neuroblastoma. Cook’s is one of only 15 hospitals in the U.S. that specializes in Neuroblastoma and is the only cancer center in Texas and the Southwest that has a lead line room for MIBG therapy which is a specialized treatment for Neuroblastoma patients.
Your donation will directly make a difference in these children’s lives and to the medical staff that has helped make our sweet baby girl healthy again so she can enjoy a long, bright future!
